God Tier: Witch of Light
Explanation of Chosen God Tier: Witches are an active class, and Papili definitely tends to develop an active role. She's not above manipulating knowledge or engineering situations to her own benefit in order to get what she wants, which is mirrored in her abilities as a Witch of Light.
The abilities of a Witch of Light make for a pretty powerful character, which means she could be a dangerous opponent in a session. As Light represents luck and knowledge, and a Witch is 'One who manipulates ___' or 'One who breaks the rules of ___', a Witch of Light would be able to manipulate luck itself, changing it with her wishes. It is important to note that unlike a Thief or Rouge, A witch does not take Luck, but changes it. This means that a Witch would be able to give you bad luck as well. In regards to situations where luck is even vaguely involved, a Witch could 'break' luck itself, rendering the impossible possible, or making something impossible.
In regards to the knowledge part of Light, a Witch would be able to manipulate knowledge to her own ends. For example, take memories. While a Witch would not be able to remove or destroy memories, or even alter them, she can manipulate the knowledge of them, so while you retain the memory you have no knowledge that you do. The memory may be just out of reach. Of course this particular examle would be nulified if another were to bring up said memory. A Witch of Light might be able to also manipulate the knowledge inside memories as well. Perhaps she could not alter said memory, but she could 'break' the knowledge of when or whee the memory took place. For instance, if the Witch were to 'break' the knowledge of where your house was, you could remember your house, what it looked like, the area surrounding it even, but you couldn't find your way there, nor could you place it on a map.If a Witch of Light were to use her powers for the good of the session, she could also act as an information relay, manipulating the knowledge of everyone in the session to add in new information. Alternatively if she were to turn against the session, she would be capable of manipulating not only the luck of the other players, but the knowledge of other players to a negative effect.
Land: Land of Flint and Tremors
Description of Land: The land is a soft dark gray, with mottled stone veins running through it. It looks as though it was carved jaggedly by a knife. Every now and then a rumbling begins to shake the ground, displacing the tectonic plates of the planets, shifting the ground rapidly, and the flint and stone that make up the landscape rub against each other, spraying showers of sparks into the air and raining down upon anyone who stands on the surface.
Enter Item: A yellow kerosene lamp, slightl chipped, that when the gas release is
turned too high causes it to explode.
Strife Specibus: Flamethrower
Lusus/Living situation: Papili was raised by a rather large Moth Lusus, Mothmom, who tended to dote upon her constantly, making sure her every need was met. Papili loves her lusus greatly, and is very protective of them, due to an incident when she was small and her lusus was almost killed trying to protect her from some older trolls. As a result of the incident, Mothmom's wings were tattered slightly, allowing flight, but just barely. As Papili grew older and more capable Mothmom was able to rest more often, and around Papili's seventh sweep, Mothmom began to reside solely in her
tower. To make sure Mothmom did not grow lonely when Papili was not there, Papili went out and captured some of the smaller breeds of moths on Alternia and brought them to live with Mothmom, tend to her, and keep her company. Mothmom is about the only entity that naturally recieves affection from Papili.
As a wriggler she commanded the drones to make three interconnected massive towers. One is taller than the rest, and has a very large balcony at the top room. Her living quarters are situated in this one, and as such it is where she spends a good amount of her time. One of the other smaller towers is where she stores her library, her collections, and various other items she wants on display. There are guest quarters housed in this tower, and she calls it the Open tower. The third tower is where her lusus resides, and the lower levels are dedicated to storage alone. Her lusus often has much smaller moth companions making their homes in the tower, and as such Papili calls it the Moth Tower. These names aren't exactly creative, but she came up with them when she was younger, and sees no reason to change them.
Appearance: She has a very petite frame, and is much smaller than most of those around her. She has a childish face with large wideeyes, messy bangs and fluffy hair that is pulled into two exceptionally large ponytails that go down to a bit above her ankles, resembling moth wings Furry indigo hair ties hold them in place She wears a dark grey long coat with and indigo fur trim, black pants, and indigo fur trimmed darker grey boots. Underneath her jacket she wears a black tank top with her symbol on it. Her horns are somewhat large, and resemble Moth antennae.
Personality: Papili is a naturally selfish, and was raised in an environment where she was spoiled rotten. As a result Papili has developed a very strong sense of entitlement. When things don't go her way, she gets violently angry. She's irrational when she wants something, and is not above manipulation in any form, and actually tends to do so often. She's very energetic and quick to move.
Her anger is either soft and insidious, or very loud and explosive. She either gets her way through force or she does it through manipulation, and if she was still to be denied what she wanted, it would cause a great deal of rage and indignation within
her.
She never learned to deal with sadness properly either, always switching to her anger as a method of coping. If she were ever to experience a big enough disapointment or sadness where she simply couldn't muster up her anger, she probaly wouldn't know what to do with herself. At this point, she could probably experience a character development point, and begin changing herself. In her own sadness she would begin introspection, and find she was not content with how she was, and begin to make an effort to change. Alternatively, she would sink into her own bitterness, and let her negativity fester, and eventually begin to lash out in her own rage. She would return to her old ways of thinking, only with a much more violently negative reaction to things.
A reformed Papili would be more sensitive to others wishes, and would back down instead of forcing her way. She would still be manipulative, but would have learned how to tone that down as well. She might open up her heart more as well, experiencing some form of affection or regard for others, unlike before.
With small inconsequential sadness however, she can be easily cheered up with relatively simple things. When she's puting a gift will make her perk up easily or end a fight. When she's happy, she's also a lot more compliant and willing to compromise as well. She may even act a little silly and affectionate.
However just because she seems to express affection, does not mean she feels it. She has difficulty actually feeling genuine care or worry over another being, and really only feels strong emotions towards her Lusus, of whom she is very protective of. Sometimes she wishes she had someone closer to her, but the thoughts baffle her in a way. It would take someone with an equally forceful personality, and a persistent streak to match her.
The concept of death hold very little signifigance to her, unless it's her own safety being threatened. If someone she actually cared for were to die, that might be the trigger for the previously mentioned depression, as well as a trigger for her learning to value the lives of others. Regardless of whether or not she reforms herself or not, she has no problem cutting down those that get in her way. While she's not sadistic per say, she does enjoy the feeling of victory.
She is also very knowledgable about a variety of topics, as her home houses a rather large collection of books, some taken from the wreckage of the homes of trolls who have upset her. She has a knack for ferreting out information as well, and somehow manages to know most of the going ons around her. She happens to have a very curious streak as well.
Papili is a risk taker, and likes to gamble with her own safety at times. She is drawn to dangerous things, particularily fire. She's not very afraid of getting hurt physically either. Part of this manifests itself in how she satiates her curious nature. She likes to do research and find out information, even if it's banned.
Likes: Books, gifts, moths, knowing everything that happens, getting her way, fire, risks.
Dislikes: Wetness, super organized things, those who oppose her, the cold, bats.
Interests: Hanggliding, gossip, catching insects (particularily moths), arson, illegal research, poisons.
Strengths (Pros): Intelligent, quick, curious, intuitive, relatively fearless in the face of danger
Weaknesses (Cons): Not sympathetic, self-centered, spoiled, manipulative.
Insecurities: When things are too perfect, she feels as though something bad will come and break it apart. She doesn't like to have thigs too orderly either, as it makes her feel nervous.
Decision-Making/Leading/Operating Under Stress Abilities:Despite her apparent childishness, and her tendency to act on her whims, she's actually very intelligent. She knows how to get what she wants, and how to manipulate another person. She sees her own decisions in a very clinical fashion, and knows how to weigh the pros and cons of her actions.
She probably wouldn't be fit to be a leader, as she is too self absorbed, even when reformed, and would probably only act in a way that benefits her.
